The inaugural weekend film festival hosted by Creative Compass Society opened Friday night with the screenings of the Fort Flicks – an annual 48 hour film challenge with teams of filmmakers from local schools and community. Saturday opened with a full day of shorts ranging a variety of topics, followed by a film talk from local filmmaker Justin MacGregor, a documentary, PAVE THE ROAD by local filmmaker Kelly Mason and a feature presentation comedy/drama, PORTRAITS FROM A FIRE by Indigenous award winning filmmaker Trevor Mack. Next year’s film festival coming February 2023.
